Introduction

Hi,

Welcome to Dada Literary Club (DLC). "Dada" means "sister" in Swahili, an East African language. DLC is a book club for sisters from the African continent. It is an initiative designed to encourage African women (including women of African descent) to read and learn about their heritage.

Many of us are already familiar with the Fitzgeralds, Salingers, Brontes, Dostoevskys, Hemingways, and even Shakespeares, BUT do we know OUR Achebes, Soyinkas, Okris, Emechettas, Bandeles, Coetzees, Bas, Abanis, Ngcobos, wa Thiongos, Tutolas, among others?

It is about time we delve into the wonderful world of African literature.

Anyone and everyone is welcome to join our virtual club.

We will also have the opportunity to expand our curiosity by exploring Aboriginal, Asian, and South American Literature.

Here at the Dada Literacy Club, we will introduce two books every month to be read. The books will be introduced every first and third Mondays of the month.

PLEASE JOIN OUR FACEBOOK NETWORK.

Thank you,

Dada
